Privacy Policy — UX Fighting Chance

1. Who we are

UX Fighting Chance is an AI-powered portfolio analysis tool for UX designers. We help you understand how your portfolio reads from a hiring manager's perspective so you can make targeted improvements before your job search.

2. What we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you sign up with Google, we also receive your name and Google profile information. Passwords are hashed and managed by Supabase Auth — we never see your plaintext password.

Portfolio content

When you submit a portfolio URL for analysis, our system visits and reads the pages of that URL — including page text, HTML structure, and metadata. For paid tier analyses, we also capture screenshots of up to 5 pages.

Analysis results

The reports and scores generated from your analyses are stored in our database and associated with your account. You can view them at any time.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or full billing address. We store only your Stripe customer ID and the plan you purchased, which we need to manage your access window.

3. How we use your data

To run AI analysis on your portfolio and generate your report
To store and display your past analyses and score history
To send transactional emails: account confirmation, analysis complete, analysis failed
To process your payment and manage your access window
To diagnose technical failures and improve the service

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not send marketing emails.

4. AI processing

This is the most important section to read if you care about where your data goes.

Text analysis:The text content of your portfolio pages is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the written analysis, scores, and recommendations in your report.

Visual analysis (paid tier):Screenshots of your portfolio pages are sent to OpenAI's GPT-4o API for visual assessment of layout, typography, and design craft.

Neither Anthropic nor OpenAI uses API data for training.API calls are explicitly excluded from model training under both companies' terms of service. Your portfolio content is used only to generate your analysis and is not retained by either provider beyond the API call.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate UX Fighting Chance:

Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
Stripe — payment processing
Amazon Web Services (AWS) — serverless compute (Lambda) and job queue (SQS)
Resend — transactional email delivery
Anthropic — Claude API for text analysis
OpenAI — GPT-4o API for visual analysis (paid tier)
Vercel — web application hosting

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and data handling practices. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

6. Data retention

Your account: Kept until you delete it
Your reports: Kept until you delete them or your account
Crawl cache: Portfolio content is cached for up to 24 hours to avoid redundant processing, then expires automatically
Screenshots: Used during analysis and not stored in long-term cache
Generated PDFs: Stored in private Supabase Storage, accessible only via signed URL

7. Your rights

You can:

Access the data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Ask us what data we have sent to third parties on your behalf

8. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our database uses Row Level Security (RLS) — your reports and account data can only be accessed by you. Payment data never touches our servers. Generated PDFs are stored in private buckets and accessed only via time-limited signed URLs.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continuing to use the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
